I read this conference talk this am ‘And Nothing Shall Offend Them’ given in the October 2006 General LDS Conference and the following excerpt stuck out to me:
“…it ultimately is impossible for another person to offend you or to offend me. Indeed, believing that another person offended us is fundamentally false. To be offended is a choice we make; it is not a condition inflicted or imposed upon us by someone or something else.” – Elder David A Bednar Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
Let us all take the challenge today, especially this Holiday Season as we spend extra time with our friends; our neighbors; and of course our immediate and extended families, to “learn about and apply the Savior’s teachings about interactions and episodes that can be construed as offense.”
