LDSUnPlugged – The ‘Who’

My name is Eddie G and a few months ago, I had thoughts of how media, entertainment, and technology are becoming increasing distractions to the things in our lives that matter most.   I am a Mormon, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and what matters most to me is my relationship with my God and my Family.

Over the years, as I have studied ancient and modern day scripture, I have have learned that we are Sons and Daughters of a living God who loves us and wants us to live righteous lives and return to him someday.

I decided to recently make a statement and broadcast how we can make the choice to UnPlug from the World and PlugIn to our spirituality.    Through God’s teachings, we can make the decision today to avoid the distractions that keep us from developing a better relationship with God and our Families.

http://www.LDSUnPlugged.com has been launched and I’m happy and excited to add my own tips and strategies as well as those of others who are willing to take the LDSUnPlugged challenge.

Choices

I’ve been thinking quite a bit about ‘choices’ and how ‘I’ have the choice to be happy or to be sad; to be a success or be a failure; I can chose righteousness or I can chose wickedness.

I realize that ‘Happiness is NOT an illusion.’ It is real, and I have the choice to decide today whether I will live out my life in a state of happiness or in a state of misery.

I chose to live a state of happiness and will work diligently at doing the things that bring me joy.

May your day be filled with ‘good’ choices that bring you joy, success and righteous desires!

7 Habits

Just finished re-reading the basic core 7 Habits of Successful people by the late Stephen Covey:

https://www.stephencovey.com/7habits/7habits.php

Habit 1 – Be Proactive

Habit 2 – Begin with the End in Mind

Habit 3 – Put First Things First

Habit 4 – Think Win-Win

Habit 5 – Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood

Habit 6 – Synergize

Habit 7 – Sharpen the Saw

I’ve always loved this read and re-committed myself to open up Covey’s book and read again.   As for this weekend, I’m taking on my own challenge to UnPlug from entertainment and media and PlugIn to my spiritual side of things focused on Sharpening my Saw.     It just snowed and the sun is shining in beautiful Heber Valley.

It’s going to be a great day and weekend!
